Stone of London inspires beautiful family home with stylish new floor tiling
When the owners of an elegant family home wanted to upgrade their floor tiling, they turned to Stone of London to ensure their vision was made a reality.
Located in a highly desirable location in Greater London just on the boundary with Hertfordshire, the home features a large indoor open plan area which opens out to an outdoor entertaining area. The owners were looking for a floor covering which complemented the modern look they had already achieved with the rest of the house.
Stone of London advised the homeowners of the various options available on the market, including marble, quartz, granite and limestone. Ultimately, their range of Crème Tumbled Limestone tiles were chosen, in a 20mm thickness. The homeowners really appreciated the creamy warm tones and sophisticated tumbled finish that the tiles brought to their property.
The limestone tiles have a predominantly creamy colour with soft white and golden undertones, which help to create a neutral but solid base in any interior or exterior space. Because limestone is a natural stone, it is extremely durable and hard wearing which makes it a perfect candidate for flooring. They are also quite soft to touch which makes them comfortable to walk on.
Supplied by Stone of London, the tiles were designed and installed in an opus formation, to really emphasise the natural beauty of the stone. The opus tile layout involves using a combination of four different size tiles, that when laid give the effect of a random pattern.
The homeowners commented,
“We are really pleased with our tiles that Stone of London supplied and fitted. They were excellent in going through the various options available to us, and we are thrilled with the look and feel of the cream, caused minimal disruption with installing the tiles, and worked hard to make sure the job was completed as quickly as possible.”
The tiles also feature a tumbled finish, where they have a rough or pitted surface with broken and uneven edges. This helps to give the tiles great depth and enhances the indoor and outdoor spaces of the property.
Finally, another advantage limestone brings to the family home is that it is resistant to mould and bacteria which makes it a fabulous material for the jacuzzi which sits proudly in the outside entertaining area. This means the area around the jacuzzi is a timeless, elegant and functional space which will look beautiful for many years to come.
